War- A personal Response
The room was gloomy and dark. Death was lurking in the dark corners of the dilapidated room. The war was still going on. The women and children were all starving as they didn’t have a chance to enjoy a proper meal. They are all longing for the Sun that they have been waiting for to appear out of the horizon. The mother, sitting on the edge of the bed with a baby cuddled in her breast, looked at the camera lenses, puzzled on why there was a need to start a war. She was breast feeding her child. Her child turned his head away shyly, perhaps still unaccustomed to the cruel and realistic world. The baby’s ribcage protruded from his soft delicate body. He was sucking hard on his mother’s drooped breast, in hope that some milk will come out to reduce his aggravating hunger. The mother’s stomach bloated, maybe due to the poor hygiene conditions. Behind them, hidden away from the camera lenses and to the eyes of many in the world, is the poor environment housing these helpless women and children while their husbands go to war. The photo, shoot in black and white. Or is it revealing their hatred feelings towards the war?
